Monroe Man Facing Charges Including Kidnapping Of Frenchtown Township Teen

MONROE (WWJ) - An 18-year-old Monroe man is facing several charges including kidnapping after allegedly forcing a 16-year-old Frenchtown Township girl to take him to a hotel.

Once in the room, he pulled out a gun and threatened her if she tried to leave. She tried to escape Sunday morning but was caught in the hallway and beaten. A man intervened and soon police were called while the suspect ran off reports The Monroe News.

He was later caught and taken to the Monroe County Jail.

He's been booked on charges including unlawful imprisonment, domestic violence, malicious destruction of property and resisting arrest.

A gun was found in the hotel room.
