Monroe County Teen Accused Of Plot To Kill Students Makes Plea Deal

MONROE (WWJ/AP) - A 15-year-old Monroe County boy accused of planning to kill a girl who spurned him and up to seven other students at his high school has pleaded no contest in a deal with prosecutors.

The Monroe News reports the Jefferson High School student's written plan titled "Three Days to Kill" stated the girl "must be destroyed" and "wiped off the face of the Earth."

The school's in Frenchtown Township, northeast of Monroe.

Authorities found a Samurai sword and homemade knife in the boy's home.

He pleaded no-contest Wednesday to possession of imitation harmful substances and agreed to be on probation until age 17. The Associated Press isn't using his name because of his age.

Probate Judge Frank L. Arnold, who had ordered the teen held without bond "out of concern for public safety," will decide if the boy serves any more time in custody. He's remaining in juvenile detention until a March 9 hearing.

Defense attorney Christian Horkey argued that his client isn't homicidal and the plans were not those "of a criminal mastermind."
