DALLAS (AP) - Major League Baseball is close to new recommendations for safety netting at its stadiums for the 2016 season.
Commissioner Rob Manfred says fan safety is paramount and it is "absolutely clear" there will be changes.

There were several instances of fans injured by foul balls this year.

After the quarterly meeting wrapped up Thursday, Manfred said that along with recommendations on the physical location of nets, a fan education program will be announced.

He adds that there is an understanding of the outlines of the program, and MLB will have more details before the owners next meet in January.
