Search underway for missing 6-year-old boy in Madison Heights, city says

Police, loved ones searching for missing 6-year-old boy

Police and others in Madison Heights, Michigan, on Sunday night are looking for a missing 6-year-old boy, according to city officials.

Johnathan Skattebo was last seen near the 28000 block of Hales Street around 3:30 p.m., police said. He was last seen wearing a blue and black winter coat and matching blue and black boots.

According to police, Skattebo stands 4 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 65 pounds, and has grayish-blue eyes and brown hair.

City officials said Skattebo is nonverbal and likes to hide in cold, dark places. 

Police said in a social media post on Sunday night that he was seen on a Ring doorbell camera walking west on Jenifer Avenue toward Park Court. 

Law enforcement added that there are K-9's in the neighborhood where he went missing. They ask that anyone who wants to help in the search stay in their vehicles and drive with hazard lights on so the dogs can "thoroughly track scents."

Anyone who sees Skattebo or makes contact with him is asked to call 911 or the Madison Heights Police Department at 248-585-2100.
