Missing 3 Years: Show Will Spotlight Disappearance Of Gas Station Clerk Jessica Heeringa

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WWJ) - A 25-year-old gas station clerk disappeared almost three years ago from her job in west Michigan. Tonight the TV show "Disappeared" will profile the case of Jessica Heeringa on the Investigation Discovery Channel. Norton Shores Police Chief Jon Gale says a customer reported that the clerk was missing.

Jessica Heeringa.

"Right away within hours we were able to identify that there was something suspicious going on due to her purse was left at the scene and her vehicle was still there -- there was a very small blood drop found behind the store which was later identified as Jessica Heeringa blood," said Gale.

Gale hopes the show will lead to a break in the case. He says there's a reward of about $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in her disappearance.

"Well, we're still looking for that exact right tip," said Gale. "After three years we're received thousands of tips and we've investigated most all of them, anything that was credible, and we are hoping that this national show will bring in ... the right tip and bring in some information that will lead us in the right direction."

Some witnesses say they saw a silver minivan pull behind the station and drive off before she disappeared.
