I don't know if I will ever quite understand what makes hockey players so dang tough.

One thing is for sure: The stereotype of hockey players being the toughest men on the planet is pretty much true.

The Minnesota Wild took on the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday, and Wild forward Zach Parise took a puck to the face.

How did he react? He picked up his own teeth off the ice and returned to the game.

It's a cliche in the hockey world, but in the real world it's jaw dropping. How can you overcome pain like this?

If that would have happened to me, whether in a hockey game or through an accident in  everyday life, I would have blacked out. There would have been a curse or two, or two hundred, and I probably would have called my parents.

Here's a major hat tip to you Mr. Parise -- well played, sir, well played.
