Mike Ilitch's Son Arraigned On Drug Possession Charges

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Ronald Ilitch of the prominent Ilitch family of Detroit, was released from jail on Thursday evening. Ilitch was arraigned on one count of drug possession after he was arrested Wednesday night.

Ilitch allegedly had crack cocaine on him at The Riviera motel at McNichols and Grand River on the city's west side. Police said that Ilitch was also with a prostitute at the time. A not guilty was entered on his behalf in court, and a bond of $5,000 was set.

Ilitch faces charges of one count of possession of a controlled substance less than 25 grams, which carries up to four years in prison.

The next court in the case is September 4. The 56-year-old was being booked at the detention center.

Mike Ilitch is founder and owner of the Little Caesars Pizza and he owns the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers.
