When the Detroit Tigers are ready to take off for their caravan, I have found it's the best time to ask the players non-baseball-type questions. They are just normal people like you and I, so why not ask the hard hitting questions?

Miguel Cabrera was at a table by himself so I took the opportunity to ask how he would go about getting his Air Jordans now that David Price isn't around.

Last season, Price gave Cabrera multiple pairs of Air Jordans and the ecstatic look on Cabrera's face is priceless.

Cabrera was quick to say he doesn't have a sponsor this year for the cleats he will be wearing. In year's past Cabrera had exclusvily worn New Balance shoes.

This time, he said he asked Nike to sponsor him, and they said no. "Nobody wants me!" he joked, adding, "I don't blame them."

To me, it's shocking that arguably the world's best baseball player can't get a shoe deal.

Does this surprise you that Nike would tell Miguel Cabrera, "no, we don't want to sponsor you?"
