Midnight Deadline For Healthcare Enrollment Looms

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the last day to enroll in a health insurance plan under the Affordable Care Act.

Enroll America State Director Erin Knott says hefty fines await those who miss the deadline but enrolling is much bigger than avoiding fees.

"What it is is the peace-of-mind that goes along with having coverage and not having to pay those out of pocket expenses that would go along with no coverage, if you got sick or had an accident," said Knott.

"Those kind of documents you have when you get your taxes prepped - your employer information - your income - your social security number, things like that," said Knott.

Enroll America and ACCESS have health care experts on site at two locations Sunday to help customers avoid the almost $700 penalty if they miss the midnight deadline.
