Microsoft Reportedly Working On New Browser

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - When Microsoft introduces its Windows 10 in 2015, it will reportedly have a browser that is not Explorer.

The new browser, which Zdnet states has the code name Spartan, will resemble Google's Chrome and Firefox.

This new browser, according to Neowin, will feature rectangular tabs for webpages; back, forward and refresh buttons next to the URL bar and it will support plugins.

USA Today reports that the last update Microsoft made to Internet Explorer was last year with International Explorer 11.

Word of a new way to surf the web comes as Google passed Microsoft this year to be the most popular web browser on personal computers and mobile devices, the Wall Street Journal reported.

More details about Windows 10, and a possible release date, may be revealed during a Microsoft event in January.
