Michigan's Harbaugh Raises Recruiting Stakes In New Jersey

PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) — Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh is raising the stakes in a recruiting rivalry in New Jersey where the state's flagship university is trying to keep its best players on home turf.

The Record newspaper (http://bit.ly/1UhSu0D ) reports powerhouse Paramus Catholic High School will play St. Frances Academy of Maryland in Michigan Stadium on Sept. 2. The Big House match will feature prospective Big 10 recruits.

Rutgers University's new head coach Chris Ash wants to keep such prospects from leaving the state as he seeks to build the football program.

The announcement comes after Harbaugh hosted a football camp at Paramus Catholic on Wednesday. Ash countered with a camp of his own that featured Harbaugh's rival, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.

Rutgers alumni left school memorabilia on the field at Harbaugh's camp.
