CBS DETROIT - Odds are that Michigan State will win the national championship, according to Vegas Insider.

The website lists the Spartans' odds at 13/2, making Michigan State the favorite ahead of Florida State (7/1), Mississippi State (7/1), Alabama (8/1) and Oklahoma (9/1).

With a record of 5-1, the Spartans' only loss this season came on the road against No. 9 Oregon. Michigan State's success this season comes on the heels of a one-loss campaign in 2013, which the Spartans finished on the strongest possible note by winning the Big Ten championship and the Rose Bowl.

The biggest game left on the regular season schedule for Michigan State happens Nov. 8, when the Spartans could boost their resume with a victory over No. 13 Ohio State. Other than the Buckeyes, the Spartans face no other teams in the Top 25 the rest of the way.
