Missing Girl, 3, Taken By Father In Holly, Is Returned

HOLLY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- There was a sigh of relief in the Holly area, after a 3-year-old girl taken from her mother's home by the father Sunday was returned.

The father turned himself in to police early Tuesday morning.

State Police Lt Calvin Hart told WWJ the 3-year-old girl was first returned to her grandparents in Clarkston, with the father arrested and facing serious charges.

"One was forced entry of the home and domestic violence, as well as assault, attempt to strangle a victim," Hart said.

The girl's mother claimed she was being stalked, with the father demanding they get back together before the girl had been taken.

 

Police did not disclose the child's name, but multiple reports identify the girl as Vadalynn Owings and her father as 26-year-old Brent Alan Owings.
