Michigan State Considered To Have Fan Base 'Most Obsessed With Their Rival'

I'm a Michigan State fan. I won't ever waver, whether they are good or bad, I will always cheer on the Spartans. My father says it best when he told me he "raised me the right way."

Having said that, I watch every single Michigan football and basketball game. I can't remember the last time I missed one on TV.

When I was growing up, Michigan State was awful at football. When they lost and Michigan lost on the same Saturday it almost made up for how bad I felt about the Michigan State loss.

Say what you want about that statement but a Michigan loss at times was as good as a Michigan State win. Since Mark Dantonio has been on board as the head coach of the Spartans the tables have turned. MSU has beaten Michigan at football 7 out of the last 8 years. There hasn't been a game in those last eight years that I was "scared" of Michigan.

A publication called ThePostGame.com came out with an interesting story, "College Football Fan Bases Most Obsessed With Their Rival." I had to click on that link.

The number one fan base on that list was Michigan State.

Never mind that Michigan State has won seven of eight against Michigan, including last year's Miracle at the Big House. Sparty fans are extra ornery and cranky because while Harbaugh is hogging all the attention their team is once again relegated as the "Little Brother" even though Michigan State is the reigning Big Ten champion.

I don't disagree with this at all. I am obsessed with Michigan, I want to see them lose so I can brag to my friends about how their almighty Michigan has fallen from the Big Ten elite. Maybe Michigan bounces back this season with Jim Harbaugh at the helm, but I still don't think the Wolverines will walk into Spartan Stadium Saturday October 29 and win.

Other fan bases on the list were Utah, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Auburn, Texas A & M, Florida, Baylor, Oregon State and The Ohio State University.
