Michigan St. Basketball Player Eron Harris Takes Plea Deal

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State basketball player Eron Harris has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving, weeks after he was charged with drunken driving.

Records show Harris appeared Wednesday in an East Lansing court. He owes $1,236 in fines and other costs.

Police say Harris' blood-alcohol level was above the 0.08 threshold for drunken driving. He was stopped on July 1. Coach Tom Izzo has suspended him indefinitely.

Harris transferred to Michigan State from West Virginia and is eligible to play after sitting out last season.
