'Michigan Matters' Looks At Red Hot Happenings! Dinosauria, Woodward Dream Cruise, Detroit Jazz Festival

With the July 4th holiday upon us, the spotlight falls on things to do on "Michigan Matters" where community leaders appear to talk about things like a new wolf exhibit and the Dinosauria display with dozens of real life replica creatures at the Detroit Zoo.

Ron Kagan, executive director and CEO of the Detroit Zoological Society, appeared with Senior Producer/Host Carol Cain to talk about the new exhibits which have been a hit with zoo goers of all ages. He also talked about the new penguin exhibit which will open next year along with a brand new display dedicated to bats.

He talked how 40 animatronic dinosaurs snarl , spit and actually move. It is the largest dinosaur exhibit in the nation. Visitors enter a veritable "Zoorassic Park" as they travel back in time along four acre DinoTrail recreating prehistoric life.

Then, Tony Michaels, president and CEO of the Parade Company, appears to discuss the upcoming Woodward Dream Cruise, which takes place in a few weeks. He is helping to produce that event.

And Michaels talks about public tours and other educational programs at the Parade Company's facility on the east side of Detroit which is home to many of the exhibits featured in America's Thanksgiving Parade.

Rod Alberts, who runs the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, appears as well and discussing plans for the North American International Auto Show. He talks about the growing role of technology in the epic Detroit auto show held at Cobo Center.
