Non-profits impact Detroit as few other cities across America which is why Harvard has been helping to train area CEOs to more effectively lead their organizations.

Richard Shapack, principal at Shapack Gurrola PLC, and board chair of the Harvard Business School Club of Michigan,  talks with Carol Cain, Senior Producer/Host of "Michigan Matters" and discusses why they have chosen dozens of local CEOs to send to their school to learn more.

It's a growing trend as more mid-career executives are doing the same, said Treder Lang, also a regent at Eastern Michigan University.
