'Michigan Matters' Focus: Helping Veterans, Looking At Autos And Lions Leadership

With more than 600,000 veterans in Michigan, which is the 11th most populous state and Veteran's Day about to be celebrated -- a conversation ensued about the need to help female veterans in particular as (Ret) Brig, Gen. Carol Ann Fausone appeared with host Carol Cain during a taping of "Michigan Matters" and talked about it and other things.

The show discussed the plight of veterans in advance of Veteran's Day which is next Wednesday.

(Ret) Brig. Gen.Lt. Col. Lindell Holm, USMC, who works for Michigan's Veterans Trust Fund, also appeared and said the state has been working to help veterans with jobs, housing, and other things.

The show also highlighted the state of the auto industry as the roundtable of Alisa Priddle, auto team leader at Detroit Free Press, Glenn Stevens of MichAuto, and John McElroy, of Autoline, talked about auto sales, UAW President Dennis Miller and auto talks.

The conversation turned to sports and whether Bill Ford, in the current turmoil consuming the Detroit Lions, will seek control of the team. Ford's mother Martha is currently at the helm.
