'Michigan Matters' Focus: Ficano On His County's Scandal; Ilitch On Dave Brandon And U-M Football Controversy

(CBS Detroit) - Robert Ficano opens up about what went wrong the last few years of his time as Wayne County Executive in an one-on-one with "Michigan Matters" host Carol Cain.

Ficano, who is winding down a 32 year  career in elected politics, also discusses what comes next for himself and what advice he has for the next county executive.

Then L. Brooks Patterson and business woman Denise Ilitch join Ficano on the roundtable and dissect the Detroit Tigers season, who will be in the winner's circle -- politically speaking -- on Nov. 4 and what's ahead for University of Michigan Athletic Director David Brandon amid a crisis revolving around the school's football team and decisions made over allowing a quarterback who suffered a concussion to play.

Ilitch, a regent at U-M, tells show host Carol Cain she has been bombarded by students, alums and the public via email and calls upset about the crisis. She expects an emotionally charged regents meeting this Thursday at U-M.
