'Michigan Matters' Exclusive: Ficano, Patterson, Hackel Sound Off, Trade Jabs One Final Time As Region's Leaders

(CBS Detroit)  What does Robert Ficano intend to do after he leaves his job as Wayne County Executive in a few weeks?

Why was Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel talking about the importance of fishing?

What advice does Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson have for Warren Evans, incoming CEO of Wayne County?

The three political leaders talked about those topics and more during a fast paced "Michigan Matters" which brought them together one final time before Ficano leaves and Evans steps in as new CEO of Wayne County in January. The show airs 11:30 am on CBS 62.

Hackel offered advice to Evans about appearing at the upcoming "Big Four" Detroit Economic Club luncheon which will also include Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan.

The Jan. 20 event will be held at Cobo Center during the North American International Auto show. It is sponsored by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association and CBS 62. Senior Producer/host and Detroit Free Press Columnist Carol Cain will moderate the discussion.

The luncheon will mark the maiden appearance of Warren Evans.

Evans, like Hackel and Ficano, served as county sheriff before taking on the county executive job.

The trio also talked about challenges before Duggan now that EM Kevyn Orr is about to leave.

And they offered thoughts on Gov. Rick Snyder, who won re-election to a second term in November, and how his role will change in Detroit going forward.
