Michigan Man Struck By Train Hauling Coal, Survives

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A 52-year-old man has survived being hit by a coal-hauling train in western Michigan.

Authorities say Robert Montgomery was either sitting or lying on tracks in Holland Township about 12:30 p.m. Monday when he was struck.

He told police he didn't see or hear the train.

Montgomery of Holland was listed Monday afternoon in serious condition at an area hospital.

Holland Township is west of Grand Rapids.
