Michigan Man Fatally Stabbed In Fort Wayne Attack

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say a Michigan man was fatally stabbed in the neck during an altercation in Fort Wayne.

Allen County Deputy Coroner Patt Kite says 30-year-old Michigan resident Stacy Dewayne Evans died late Thursday. He was a former resident of Fort Wayne whose Michigan hometown was not released.

Police say Evans was transported to a hospital after he was found by an officer. Initial reports indicated Evans and a woman had both been shot. The woman who was transported to the hospital in fair condition.

Witnesses told police the attack followed some kind of altercation that may have involved several people.

No one has been arrested.

Evans' death was the eighth homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2015.
