Michigan Man Arrested In Death Of 10-Month-Old Girl

THOMAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 10-month-old girl in Saginaw County.

Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel says sheriff's deputies responded Saturday morning to a Thomas Township home after getting a report of an infant not breathing.

He says the girl was taken to Covenant HealthCare, where she was pronounced dead.

Federspiel says an autopsy was performed Sunday and the girl's death was ruled a homicide.

The Saginaw News reports the 28-year-old man was arrested and lodged in the Saginaw County Jail on Saturday. Federspiel says he expects charges to be issued by prosecutors as early as Tuesday.
