Michigan Farms Can Get Federal Help For Meeting Environmental Standards

EAST LANSING (AP) — Federal funding is available to help Michigan farm operations get certification for meeting environmental protection standards.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says it can provide assistance for producers trying to implement practices that can make them eligible for verification through the Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program.

The assistance is intended for farmers who have begun the verification process but need to implement one or two conservation practices to finish.

Interested producers can contact their local USDA Service Center for more information.
