Michigan DNR To Sell Off Dozens Of Properties Through Land Auction

DETROIT (WWJ) - In the market for some land in Michigan? Well, the Michigan Department of National Resources opens its land auction tomorrow.

According to the DNR's Patricia Harlow these are surplus properties for the department, "they were reviewed and determined to be not part of our management objectives and were approved for disposal most of them are tax reverted lands and in many cases we've held the land for half a century or more."

"We do have two, kind of premium, Burt Lake properties with frontage on Burt Lake, that may be of interest," says Harlow.

She  says there are 37 properties, mainly in central and northern Michigan that will be available through the auction.

"They are in a number of counties primarily in lower northern Michigan; Cheboygan, Clare, Gladwin, Kalkaska, Marquette (that's the UP) Midland, Muskegon, Newaygo, Roscommon and Wexford counties," she said.

Bids must be postmarked by June 7th.
