Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette Recovering From Hip Surgery

MIDLAND (AP) — Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is recovering after left hip replacement surgery.

Spokeswoman Andrea Bitely says the procedure was completed Monday at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland.

The 61-year-old Republican is expected to spend Monday night in the hospital and return home on Tuesday. Schuette has been told he should expect to be walking soon after the surgery.

The avid lifelong runner, skier and basketball player had pre-surgery physical therapy. Schuette had planned to work from home for a brief period of time and continue to fully manage the activities of his office.
