I may have sung the words, "Sometimes I dream, that he is me" thousands of times in my lifetime.
The iconic Gatorade commercial will be making a comeback this weekend during the NBA All-Star game.
Coincidentally, the original commercial that ran the summer of 1991 after Jordan and the Bulls won their first NBA title will run during the All-Star game on Sunday.
Gatorade's chief marketing officer Morgan Flatley said, "The return of Gatorade's iconic 'Be Like Mike' commercial during NBA All-Star Weekend is the perfect complement to our brand's continued 50th anniversary celebration in 2015."
Jordan originally signed a 10-year, $13.5 million deal with Gatorade and Bernie Pitzel was the genius who wrote the song.
Per ESPN:
"The dunking made him a god, and what we were trying to do was humanize him and bring him down to a level to make him more acceptable" said Pitzel.
Gatorade was invented by doctors at the University of Florida in 1965 and bringing back the 'Be Like Mike' commercial is a celebration of 50 years of the sports drink.
On another side note, ESPN's Darren Rovell tweeted out a pic of the shoes that Jordan wore when he scored 63 points against Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics.

Birds' quote is great. "I think it's just God disguised as Michael Jordan."
