Massive Fire At Canadian Food Production Plant Visible From I-75, M-10 [PHOTOS]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Drivers on I-75 in Detroit Friday morning got an eyeful of a massive fire burning across the river at a Canadian food processing plant.

"It's over in Canada, just east of Windsor, there's a massive fire at a sprawling food production complex called Bonduelle," WWJ's Bill Szumanski said, hovering near the scene in Chopper 950. "This has been burning now for quite a few hours, and looks like it's not going to be stopping any time soon."

Officials say the fire took off around 2 a.m. Friday at the plant in Tecumseh, Ontario. Thick plumes of smoke rising from the fire can be seen from miles away.

Windsor fire officials said the smoke is being blown toward St. Clair Shores.

No injuries have been reported. A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
