Marshal Shoots, Wounds Man Trying To Evade Arrest Through Window

LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Police say a deputy U.S. marshal has shot and wounded a  33-year-old man who tried to flee out a window during an arrest in Lansing.

The man, who was shot late Thursday, is recovering in the hospital. Michigan State Police say he violated his parole and had several warrants for his arrest. His name wasn't immediately released.

The man's parole violations stemmed from prior narcotics, breaking and entering and fleeing and eluding arrests, according to The Lansing State Journal.

The deputy marshal was working with a group including the Michigan State Fugitive Team and the state Department of Corrections. The deputy marshal has been placed on administrative leave. State police are handling an investigation into the shooting.
