Manslaughter Charge Filed In Teen's Gun Play Death

DETROIT (AP) - A young man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a Detroit teenager who was fatally shot while playing with a gun on Christmas.

The prosecutor's office says 19-year-old Dwayne Sharper Jr. also faces two other charges. He's in custody and due in court Monday.

Sharper is accused of handling a stolen revolver when it fired and struck 16-year-old Bernard Walker in the head. Walker was taken off life support Friday and his organs were donated.

It's not the first tragedy to strike the family. A 3-year-old brother was struck by a car and killed in 1997.
