Woman, Boyfriend Found Shot To Death In Possible Murder-Suicide

TAYLOR (WWJ) - Police say a woman and her boyfriend were fatally shot in what might be a case of domestic violence.

Renee Lutton, 48, and James Walker, 59, were found dead around 8:30 p.m. Monday inside a home in the 26800 block of Beverly, between Inkster and Beech Daly roads in Taylor.

According to police, Lutton's son went to the house out of concern after not being able to make contact with his mother, when he discovered the bodies and called 911.

"We are investigating all possibilities at this point," Chief Mary Sclabassi said in a statement. "We have not yet ruled out a murder-suicide or a mutual assault and there is nothing, at least early in our investigation, that points to a third-party in the home."

An official cause of death has not yet been determined. The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office is expected to perform autopsies on Tuesday.
