Man With 20 Previous Violations Arrested For Drunk Driving In Hazel Park
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac man who has already been convicted of drunken driving twice and driving with a suspended license 18 times has been arrested again.
Michigan State Police say the 37-year old was stopped by troopers on 9 Mile Road near the I-75 service drive in Hazel Park, at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, for a broken tail light.
Troopers noticed signs that the man may have been drinking, then administrating field sobriety tests which he allegedly failed.
The man was arrested at the scene and taken to the MSP Metro North Post were breath tests were administered before he was lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
During the investigation it was determined that driver had two previous convictions for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) and 18 convictions for driving while license suspended.
His name was not immediately released.
The vehicle, a 2008 Saturn, was released to a sober passenger. Charges are pending.
