Man Wanted In Westland Attempted Home Invasion, Car Theft [PHOTO]

WESTLAND (WWJ) - It was a nightmare come true for a Westland resident who lost a set of keys.

A thief apparently found them, stole the resident's car and then tried to break into the resident's apartment.

Westland police are now looking for a man wanted for questioning the attempted break-in, in the 6500 block of Yale Street on Thursday, Jan. 14.

On Wednesday, investigators released a surveillance photo they say shows the suspect who was trying to get into the apartment. He's a black male who, at the time of the crime, was wearing a black knit hat with a logo and "Michigan football" t-shirt under a black zip-up hoodie sweatshirt.

Police are also looking for the missing vehicle: a 2011 Ford Flex with Michigan license plate DEM3838.

Anyone who has information on the stolen car or the man in the surveillance photo is asked to call the Westland Police Department at 734-722-9600.
