WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -  Macomb County authorities have released a photo of a man who allegedly went on a shopping spree with a stolen credit card.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau, a Washington Township woman on Thursday, July 30 found that someone had entered her unlocked Chrysler mini-van and stole the credit cards out of her wallet the previous night.

In the hours that followed, officials say, the suspect used the woman's credit card at several stores in the area — including a Speedway Gas Station on 26 Mile Road at Van Dyke where he was caught on the store's video surveillance system.

In the picture, the suspect is wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a "Belle Tire" logo on the front.

He's wanted on a charge of larceny from a motor vehicle.

In addition to this report, and in the last week, the Macomb County Sheriff Office has had eight reports of larceny from motor vehicles in the area. In each instance the victims left their vehicles unlocked, officials said.

"These are opportunistic crimes and people need to remember to remove their valuables from their car and lock their cars, even in their driveways," Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said.

Anyone  may be able to identify the suspect or who has information about this crime is asked to contact Detective Mark Grammatico at 586-307-9368.
