Man Struck, 'Killed Instantly' By Semi-Truck On I-94

PORT HURON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities say a man was killed instantly when he was struck by a semi-truck on I-94 near Port Huron.

The accident happened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday on westbound I-94 at I-69.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, a man went over the railing of the Michigan Road overpass and into the path of a semi-truck that was travelling on the freeway. He was struck and killed "instantly," police said.

The man's name isn't being released at this time. The truck driver wasn't physically hurt.

Westbound I-94, along with  Michigan Road at the I-94 overpass, was closed as police investigated the crash scene but has since reopened to traffic.

The crash remains under investigation.
