Man Shot Dead In Front Of Friends; Gunman At Large

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Police in Sterling Heights are looking for a gunman involved in the city's first murder of the year.

The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday near Schoenherr and Plumbrook roads, between 16 Mile and 17 Mile.

Witnesses say the victim was with a group of friends when he was fatally shot. His name has not yet been released.

Other circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown. At this point, police aren't sure if the man was targeted or if this was a random shooting.
