Man Rescued After Jumping Off Detroit Princess Riverboat

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 53-year-old Detroit man is hospitalized after being pulled from the Detroit River.

Detroit police say, for some unknown reason, the man jumped off the back of the Detroit Princess riverboat, near Hart Plaza, into the frigid water Wednesday morning.

A U.S. Coast Guard crew was able to rescue the man after he was located a little ways down the river near Joe Louis Arena.

He was rushed to Detroit Receiving Hospital where his condition was unknown.

The man's name was not released.
