Man Killed By Bull On Michigan Farm On Birthday Of Son Who Was Electrocuted

LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A 71-year-old man killed by an aggressive bull in western Michigan was attacked on the birthday of a son who was electrocuted last year.

The victim was identified as Roger Bearup, who was attacked Wednesday at a farm in Kent County's Lowell Township while trying to corral the bull. Sheriff's deputies killed the 1,500 pound bull with 33 shots.

The Grand Rapids Press says it was the birthday of 43-year-old son Jason Bearup, who died last May when a forklift struck a power line.

"He died on his son's birthday so it's been pretty rough here. Really hard," a family member said.
