Man In Ski Mask Robs Postal Worker On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities say a postal worker was left unharmed after being robbed by a masked gunman on the city's east side.

The incident happened around 11:40 a.m. Friday in the 5000 block of Bluehill near Chandler Park Drive and Cadieux Road, not far from East English Village Preparatory Academy.

Police say the armed suspect approached the 21-year-old postal worker and demanded her postal bag and cell phone. The woman complied and the suspect fled the scene; she was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, about 5'3" tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black ski mask.

The suspect could be the same man wanted for robbing a pizza delivery driver in a similar manner Friday night. The crime took place about 12 miles away, but the suspect description is exactly the same.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 313-596-5540.
