Man Found Shot To Death Behind Detroit Pizza Hut

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating after a DTE Energy work crew discovered a body on the city's west side.

According to police, utility workers found the remains early Tuesday behind a Pizza Hut restaurant on Plymouth Road near the Southfield Freeway

Police said the deceased man, believed to be in his early 20s, had several gunshot wounds. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.

A spokeswoman for the police department a large crowd at the scene got out of hand Tuesday morning, so extra officers were called to the area to calm the situation.

It was not immediately clear if the man had been shot to death behind the restaurant or if his was dumped there. There had been no arrested in the case, as of Tuesday afternoon, and police had not described any suspects.
