Man Electrocuted After Hitting Power Pole In Truck

GENESEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Flint-area authorities say a man apparently was electrocuted when he came in contact with a downed wire after crashing into a power pole.

WEYI-TV says the accident happened about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in Genesee County's Genesee Township.

County parks official Kevin Shanlan says the man was driving a pickup truck when he went off the road and hit the utility pole.

Shanlan says the crash caused wires to fall onto the truck's hood, setting the vehicle on fire. He says it appears the driver was electrocuted while trying to get out of the truck, which continued to burn.

The victim's name wasn't immediately released.
