Man Drives Self To Hospital After Being Shot At Detroit Gas Station

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say a 33-year-old man drove himself to the hospital after being shot at a gas station on the city's west side.

The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at Puritan Avenue and Fairfeld Street, in a neighborhood near Livernois Avenue and the Lodge Freeway.

According to police, the man was at the gas station when he heard a blast and realized he had been shot. Other circumstances weren't immediately clear.

The man drove himself to a nearby hospital and was last reported in temporary serious condition.

Police say at this time, they aren't sure who the gunman is. A description of the suspect was not provided.
