Man Dies After Upper Peninsula Snowmobile Crash

AU TRAIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 37-year-old Saginaw man has died following a snowmobile crash in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Mining Journal of Marquette and WLUC-TV report Adam Michael Hagerty was riding on Trail No. 8 in Alger County's Au Train Township on Wednesday night when he failed to negotiate a turn, went off the trail and hit a tree.

He died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but authorities say excessive speed may have been a factor.
