Man Critically Injured In Dearborn House Explosion, Fire

DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police in Dearborn say a man is hospitalized in critical condition after an apparent natural gas explosion at this home.

The incident happened late Wednesday morning in the 4900 block of Jonathon, along Michigan Avenue between Schafer Road and Oakman Boulevard.

The house is still standing but authorities said the explosion was so strong it blew out the front door, side door and back windows.

The man's name was not immediately released. The severity of his injuries was not immediately clear.

The cause appears to be a natural gas leak. An investigation is ongoing.
