Man Charged For Assaulting Female Deputy At Detroit Court

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Westland man who allegedly assaulted a female officer at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit on Friday was arraigned Saturday.

Deandre Wilson, 29, received a $300,000 cash bond and is charged with two counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer after he allegedly assaulted 32-year-old Wayne County Sheriff's deputy Crystal Dominguez.

Sheriff Benny Napolean said that Wilson walked through security at the courthouse around 9 a.m. and, after putting his coat back on, turned and punched Dominguez. Dominguez was knocked unconscious and taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Wilson was in court because of a similar attack on a Taylor police officer one month ago. Wilson's preliminary examination is set for January 15 at 36th District Court in Detroit.
