Man Beaten By Mob In Detroit Returns Home After Weeks Of Recovery

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Clinton Township man who was severely beaten in Detroit after accidentally hitting a boy with his pickup truck -- is finally home, after spending six weeks in hospitals.

Steven Utash, 54, a tree trimmer from Macomb County was discharged from DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan on Thursday.

On his official "Help Steve Utash" Facebook page, his family wrote simply, "Steve Utash is home."

Utash was attacked by a mob after he got out of his pickup truck to help the 10-year-old boy on April 2. Four men are charged with attempted murder in the incident. A sixteen year old is charged with ethnic intimidation.
