Man Arrested In Palmer Park Shooting Death

DETROIT (AP) - Police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in the parking lot of a Detroit splash park.

Officer Jennifer Moreno says Friday that investigators also are looking into whether the Aug. 15 slaying of James Foxhall may be connected to two other shootings in or near Palmer Park.

An autopsy shows Foxhall was shot multiple times.

The suspect's name was not released. No charges have been filed. Moreno says he was arrested this week after checking into a mental institution.

Equality Michigan says victims in the other shootings are transgender women. Equality Michigan is an anti-violence and advocacy organization serving the state's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and HIV communities.
