Man Arrested In Kalamazoo Mass Shootings Had Stash Of Personal Weapons

KALAMAZOO (WWJ) - Jason Dalton, the man accused of randomly killing six-people Saturday in the Kalamazoo area, had a personal stash of weapons -- including four handguns and 11 long guns.

Authorities say there was nothing preventing the 45-year old from owning as many guns as he could afford.

The collection of weapons was seized over the weekend. A driver for Uber, Dalton had no criminal history or record of mental illness.

In Michigan, residents who have a clean history and follow requirements can legally acquire any number of firearms.

Dalton, was arraigned Monday on murder charges. He has a court-appointed lawyer, Eusebio Solis, a former prosecutor in Calhoun County, he ran unsuccessfully for judge in 2014.

Dalton has admitted shooting eight people, killing six and wounding two people, who are still hospitalized.

He's due back in court March 3.
