Man Arrested For Jumping In Detroit River, Running From Police

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police have detained a man who jumped into the Detroit River near Riopelle and East Jefferson on Sunday afternoon.

Just after 12 p.m., an African-American male in his 30s jumped into the water and used a ladder to climb out.

Once out of the river, the man began to run from police -- but was apprehended. The man was taken to an area hospital for psychological and medical treatment.
