Man Arraigned On Murder Charge In Northern Michigan Killing

NESTER TOWNSHIP (AP) — A 42-year-old man has been arraigned on murder and attempted murder charges in the fatal shooting of one person and wounding of another in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula.

Francisco Arroyo appeared Friday in a Roscommon County courtroom. He also is charged with home invasion and using a firearm during a felony.

He was ordered held without bond.

Anita Bright and Brian Benmark were found shot Wednesday in Roscommon County's Nester Township. The 48-year-old Bright died of her wounds. Benmark was treated at a hospital.

Arroyo was arrested Thursday at a relative's home in Warren, north of Detroit.

A hearing is scheduled July 8. Arroyo also faces a July 15 preliminary examination.

The Associated Press was unable to determine Friday if he has a lawyer.
